Softball Recap: Richford Victorious

While Richford's win against Paine Mountain wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Rockets narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Paine Mountain 11-9. Considering the Rockets' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Richford let Adi Chagnon and Carleigh Gervais run wild. Chagnon went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Gervais went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave Gervais a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazzy Cunningham, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Richford has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. As for Paine Mountain, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

Richford does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Paine Mountain, they are taking a road trip to take on Lamoille at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
