Baseball Recap: Cambria Heights Has No Trouble Against Susquehanna Township

After only two runs in their last contest, Cambria Heights made sure to put some runs up on the board against Susquehanna Township on Saturday. Cambria Heights was the clear victor by a 16-3 margin over Susquehanna Township. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Highlanders' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Anthony Swander made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed five innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Stephen Nelen was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Bryce Lewis, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Cambria Heights always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Susquehanna Township only posted an OBP of .333.

Cambria Heights now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Susquehanna Township, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Cambria Heights will welcome River Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Susquehanna Township, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 12-7 loss against Blacklick Valley on the 22nd.
