Briggsdale came into Saturday's match looking for another win against Akron, but Molly O'Neil wouldn't allow it. The Akron Rams sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 41-38 victory over the Briggsdale Falcons on Saturday with plenty of help from O'Neil, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 16 rebounds. She has become a key player for Akron: the team is 10-5 when she posts at least eight boards, but 1-4 otherwise.

Addison Weis was another key player, putting up six points and four steals. That's the most steals she has posted since back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Briggsdale still got an impressive performance from Kayl Klem, who almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds. Klem has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 20 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Bailey Loyd, who scored 15 points.

Akron's win bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Briggsdale, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-5.

Looking ahead, Akron will challenge Byers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Briggsdale, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 49-41 victory against Otis on the 24th.
