Recap: South Ripley Raiders vs. Jac-Cen-Del Eagles

The South Ripley Raiders lost against the Jac-Cen-Del Eagles back in November of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. South Ripley fell 49-37 to Jac-Cen-Del. South Ripley has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why South Ripley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Reese Obendorf. Despite the final result, she scored 15 points along with seven rebounds. Obendorf has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Claire Samples, who scored four points along with six rebounds and two blocks.

Jac-Cen-Del's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Julia Meyer led the charge by dropping a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Reagan Hughes, who scored 15 points.

South Ripley has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-8 record this season. As for Jac-Cen-Del, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 18-4.

South Ripley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Jac-Cen-Del will head out on the road to challenge Southwestern at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Southwestern is on a four-game streak of home wins, Jac-Cen-Del a seven-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
