Basketball Recap: Kymora Stokes' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Southern Wayne over Ayden - Grifton + How To Watch

Southern Wayne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 52-42 to the Ayden - Grifton Chargers. The Saints were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chargers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Southern Wayne's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kymora Stokes, who posted 12 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Kiara Wynn, who earned ten points.

Southern Wayne's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Southern Wayne is taking a road trip to challenge Goldsboro at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Ayden - Grifton, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 64-44 loss against Pamlico County on the 3rd.
