Thought to be the longest run of losses in prep football history, Alabama school's skid is actually far behind 150-game streak by Red Lake of Minnesota.
As previously reported by MaxPreps, the nation's longest high school football losing streak
doesn't belong to
Columbia (Huntsville, Ala.). Our bad.
Columbia's streak could hit 100-straight losses Friday as head coach Sammie Coates and the Eagles travel to play
Jasper, which is 6-2 but on a two-game skid of its own.

Though Red Lake's streak extends back longer than Columbia's, they share an almost-spooky coincidence.
Columbia's last victory was, ironically, Oct. 16, 2015 when the Eagles beat
Ardmore 34-16.
Coates, a former NFL wide receiver who spent several seasons in the NFL and CFL, took over the team in the spring. As he worked to turn around the program's fortunes, a documentary film crew has been following the team all season as the Eagles look to break the decade-long streak.
Columbia has come closer to victory this season than in years past. On Sept. 26, the Eagles fell 28-24 to
East Lawrence (Trinity).
In that game, Columbia led 18-6 in the second quarter before East Lawrence cut the edge to 18-14 at half. But East Lawrence scored twice in the third quarter and held off Columbia for the win.
Since that game, Columbia has been outscored 140-14.
Jasper owns a 48-0 win over Columbia in 2024, the lone meeting between the schools.
