Softball Game Preview: Palmerton Blue Bombers vs. Northern Lehigh Bulldogs

The Palmerton Blue Bombers will venture away from home to challenge the Northern Lehigh Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Palmerton has given up an average of 6.5 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last five times Palmerton and Northwestern Lehigh have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Thursday. The Blue Bombers lost 16-6 to the Tigers. The Blue Bombers' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Northern Lehigh earned a 16-11 win over Jim Thorpe on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Olympians: they've now won nine in a row.

Palmerton's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Northern Lehigh, their win bumped their record up to 8-9.

Palmerton came out on top in a nail-biter against Northern Lehigh in their previous matchup back in March, sneaking past 10-8.
