Baseball Game Preview: Aliso Niguel Wolverines vs. Ocean View Seahawks

The Aliso Niguel Wolverines will head out on the road to face off against the Ocean View Seahawks at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Aliso Niguel's pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so Ocean View's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Aliso Niguel saw some tournament action on Thursday. They came out on top against Downers Grove South by a score of 7-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolverines.

Brandon Schaff looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Aliso Niguel let Cooper Flemming and Jarett Sabol run wild. Flemming scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3, while Sabol scored two runs while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs Sabol has posted since back in March. Hudson Covington was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Ocean View came tearing into Friday's matchup with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Eagles.

Aliso Niguel's record now sits at 13-5. As for Ocean View, their record is now 9-7.

Aliso Niguel came up short against Ocean View when the teams last played back in March of 2022, falling 5-0. Can the Wolverines avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
