There's no place like home for Hammond Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the River Forest Ingots on Friday, sneaking past 11-10. The win was some much needed relief for the Wolves as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.
Evalyse Pabey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and seven unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 11 Ks.
On the hitting side, Hammond Central got a massive performance out of Raven Jo Floyd, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Neveena Funches, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base.
