Softball Recap: Farmington Takes a Loss

Farmington extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping their season record down to 4-5 in the process. They came up short against the Bristol Eastern Lancers, falling 18-6. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the River Hawks of the 24-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2022.

As for Bristol Eastern, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by 12 runs or more this season.

For Bristol Eastern's part, Lyla Wegiel was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs. Riley Macdonald also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Farmington is set to challenge their familiar foe Bristol Central at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Bristol Eastern will face off against rival Hall at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
