Basketball Recap: Alhambra Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses at Home

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against North, Alhambra was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 34-24 victory over the Metro Tech Knights. The Lions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Knights, too.

Ixchel Aleman Saldivar was the offensive standout of the game as she posted 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaliyah Mcfalls, who had six points.

Mariah Price and Ashley Payan certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Price earned four points along with 14 boards and four steals, while Payan posted two points and four steals. Price has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played.

Alhambra's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-7. As for Metro Tech, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Alhambra will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against La Joya Community at 7:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025. As for Metro Tech, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 59-20 loss against Agua Fria on the 18th.
