James Logan has gone a perfect 10-0 against Irvington recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. James Logan came out on top against Washington on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run second inning. The Colts put the hurt on the Huskies with a sharp 17-1 victory. The Colts' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Gabriella Garcia was incredible, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That stolen base was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Medellin, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: James Logan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Washington only managed six hits.
Meanwhile, Irvington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They came up short against Moreau Catholic, falling 13-3.
Irvington saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ixayana Vera, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. Another was Maya Briones, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
James Logan's win bumped their record up to 14-6-1. As for Irvington, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.
Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. James Logan hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .362. However, it's not like Irvington struggles in that department as they've averaged .393. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
