Volleyball Game Preview: Robinson Rockets vs. Gatesville Hornets

The Robinson Rockets will venture away from home to face off against the Gatesville Hornets at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Robinson will be strutting in after a victory while Gatesville will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Robinson turned things around against Connally on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Cadets.

While Robinson won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-21, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Gatesville suffered their biggest defeat since August 12th on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to Lorena. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Hornets haven't been shut out since back in August.

The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-11, 25-14.

Robinson's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 20-14. As for Gatesville, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 24-7.

Robinson came out on top in a nail-biter against Gatesville in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Do the Rockets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hornets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
