Football Game Preview: Aquinas Institute Little Irish vs. University Prep Griffins

The Aquinas Institute Little Irish will face off against the University Prep Griffins at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.

On Friday, Aquinas Institute and Hilton were almost perfectly matched up, but Aquinas Institute suffered a 14-13 loss.

The losing side was boosted by C.J. Flaherty, who rushed for 142 yards.

Meanwhile, University Prep strolled past McQuaid Jesuit with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 28-14. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Griffins' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 37th, while the Knights are ranked 163rd).

The win made it two in a row for University Prep and bumps their season record up to 4-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 28 points in those games. As for Aquinas Institute, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Aquinas Institute strolled past University Prep in their previous meeting back in September of 2024 by a score of 21-2. Do the Little Irish have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Griffins turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
