Baseball Recap: Malibu Takes a Loss

Malibu was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hueneme Vikings. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Sharks of the 6-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Grayson Polatin made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Tanner Kies, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Malibu's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Hueneme, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season.

While Malibu had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
