Baseball Game Preview: Warren East Raiders vs. Allen County-Scottsville Patriots

For the second straight game, Warren East will face off against Allen County-Scottsville. The Raiders will head out on the road to square off against the Patriots at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Warren East nor Allen County-Scottsville made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Raiders sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Patriots. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Matthew Escalera spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Warren East is 4-2 when he allows at most two walks, but 5-12 otherwise.

At the plate, Warren East's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was William Alexander, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI. Kavien Hinton was another, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Allen County-Scottsville is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-17-1. As for Warren East, their victory bumped their record up to 9-14.
