Baseball Recap: Jasper's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Jasper entered their tilt with Midway on Tuesday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Vikings. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since April 9, 2024.

Treyton Ritchhart made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Hunter Earl was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI.

Jasper's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Midway, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-3.

Looking ahead, Jasper will head out on the road to challenge Archie at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Midway, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lutheran at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
