Softball Game Preview: Ohio County Eagles vs. Trinity Raiders

The Ohio County Eagles will square off against the Trinity Raiders at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Ohio County and three for Trinity.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Friday as neither Ohio County nor Russellville made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Eagles fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 4-3.

Addyson Graves (2025) spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on five hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Haley Patton (2027) made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Hadlee Canty (2025) was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Trinity's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Edmonson County on Thursday.

Trinity's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Ohio County, they now have a losing record of 14-15-1.

Ohio County came out on top in a nail-biter against Trinity when the teams last played two weeks ago, sneaking past 6-5. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
