On Friday, Cheverus faced South Portland in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Cheverus Stags took down the South Portland Red Riots 54-37. The win was familiar territory for the Stags who have now won three matches in a row.

Cheverus has also been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.7 points per game. As for South Portland, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-4.
