Baseball Recap: Oneida Comes Up Short

Oneida lost a heartbreaker to Oliver Springs when they met back in April of 2023, and they left with a heavy heart again on Saturday. The Indians fell just short of the Bobcats by a score of 3-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Indians in their meetings with the Bobcats: they've now lost three in a row.

Eli Rector was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Oneida's loss dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Oliver Springs, their win bumped their record up to 13-10-1.

Coming up, Oneida will host McCreary Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Oliver Springs, they are taking a road trip to challenge Oakdale at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bobcats are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
