            Softball Recap: Holland Christian Maroons vs. Kalamazoo Christian Comets        
        
		
        
        
            Holland Christian had lost seven straight on the road, but  on Friday they dropped their record down to 8-11 to make it eight. They lost  13-3 to the Kalamazoo Christian Comets. That's two games in a row now that the Maroons have lost by  exactly ten  runs.
As for Kalamazoo Christian, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record  this season. Considering they have won 12 games by more than six  runs this season, Friday's  blowout was nothing new.
For Kalamazoo Christian's part,  Carien Ybema was a  major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run over four innings pitched. Ybema has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-4 with two  stolen bases and two  RBI. Those  two  stolen bases gave  her a new career-high.
 In other batting news,  Cecile Ybema was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with two  stolen bases, three  runs,  and one  triple. Those  three  runs gave  her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Allison Howes, who  went a perfect 4-for-4 with two  runs, two  RBI,  and one  double.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holland Christian will venture away from home to  square off against Zeeland West  at 4:15  p.m.  on Monday. As for Kalamazoo Christian, they will head out to  take on Gobles  at 9:00  a.m.  on Saturday.
