Basketball Recap: Pontotoc Takes a Loss

Pontotoc lost against Tupelo back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Warriors fell 66-57 to the Golden Wave. The matchup marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Tupelo's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jay Fields, who went 6-for-15 en route to 15 points in addition to six assists and four steals. Jeremiah McGlaun was another key player, shooting 63% from the field to rack up 16 points and four steals.

Pontotoc now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Tupelo, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Pontotoc didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 74-62 win against Heritage Academy on the 8th. As for Tupelo, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 69-54 defeat against Starkville on the 9th.
