Softball Recap: Campbell County Gets the Win

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last five times Campbell County and Cody have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Saturday. The Camels came out on top against the Broncs by a score of 11-7. This was a revenge game for the Camels: when they faced off against the Broncs on Saturday, they had to take a 9-7 defeat.

Nevaeh Fresorger was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cadence Smith, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Campbell County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .556. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .312 or higher in 24 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Campbell County's win bumped their record up to 13-1. As for Cody, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Campbell County will host Worland at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cody does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
