Basketball Recap: Marshall Comes Up Short

If Marshall was riding high fresh off their 81-47 takedown of Windom last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Marshall Tigers had to suffer through a 85-40 loss at the hands of the Mankato East Cougars. The contest marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Marshall fell to 4-1. As for Mankato East, they pushed their record up to 2-1 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Marshall won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Worthington at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Mankato East, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Mankato East Cougars challenge the Century Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mankato East knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Century likes a good challenge.
