Hattiesburg extends road winning streak to five

Recap: Hattiesburg Tigers vs. South Pike Eagles

The Hattiesburg Tigers won the last time they faced the South Pike Eagles, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Hattiesburg walked away with a 40-30 victory over South Pike. Given Hattiesburg's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while South Pike is ranked 193rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

When it comes to explaining why South Pike lost, one person who can't be blamed is John Harrell. Despite the final result, he scored 9 points.

Hattiesburg's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-1. As for South Pike, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hattiesburg will take on Laurel at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
