Mitchell beats Fayette Ware for their ninth straight win

The Mitchell Tigers put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their undefeated season alive. They claimed a resounding 36-0 victory over Fayette Ware at home. The result was nothing new for Mitchell, who have now won eight contests by 22 points or more so far this season.

Mitchell's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kevonta Rodgers led the charge by rushing for 137 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries. Another player making a difference was Tadarius Canada, who rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.

Mitchell's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. The heavy lifting was done by Martavion Pratcher and Kenderrius Robertson who racked up four sacks between them.

Mitchell's win was their fifth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-0. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-9 Fayette Ware and 1-9 King Prep (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 25.9% over those games). As for Fayette Ware, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.

Mitchell will head out on the road to face off against Fairley at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Fairley has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 168 points over their last four matches. As for Fayette Ware, they will be playing at home against Crockett County at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Crockett County will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.
