Softball Game Preview: West Covina Bulldogs vs. Covina Colts

West Covina is 0-10 against Covina since February of 2020 but things could change on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Colts at 3:30 p.m. West Covina has given up an average of 9.1 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

West Covina is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They took a 22-19 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rowland on Thursday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (ten), the Bulldogs still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Covina entered their matchup against Northview on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Colts came up short against the Vikings, falling 13-7. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 9, 2024, but that streak is no more.

This is the second loss in a row for West Covina and nudges their season record down to 8-10-1. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for Covina, they now have a losing record of 8-9-1.

West Covina suffered a grim 10-2 defeat to Covina when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
