Baseball Recap: Wylie Takes Down Plainview in a Playoff Battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Wylie walked away with it. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over Plainview on Saturday. The win continues a trend for Wylie in their matchups with Plainview: they've now won eight in a row.

Brady Gay looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Wylie saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colby Garrett, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Hudson Tuley was another, going 1-for-2 with three RBI.

Wylie's record is now 21-5-1. As for Plainview, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-15.

Looking ahead, Wylie will take on Del Valle on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bulldogs 3, the Conquistadores 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Plainview does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
