Sandy had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. Everything went their way against Nelson as they made off with a 7-0 victory. The Pioneers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by seven runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Cooper Hibbs, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kobe Sparks, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Sandy's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Nelson, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-6.
