Baseball Recap: Smith-Cotton Triumphs

While Smith-Cotton's victory against Camdenton wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers came out on top against the Lakers on Tuesday by a score of 5-4 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tigers have posted since April 9th.

Cooper Woolery was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. He is becoming a predictor of Smith-Cotton's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 9-12 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Caden Homan, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI.

Smith-Cotton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. The last time their OBP was this high was in their last eight contests.

The victory got Smith-Cotton back to even at 13-13. As for Camdenton, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.

Smith-Cotton will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Lakers: the pair will be back at it again later today.
