Baseball Recap: San Luis' Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

San Luis had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 9-4 win over the Kofa Kings on Tuesday. For the Sidewinders, this counts as revenge for the 7-1 victory the Kings walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Erick Espinoza and Diego Ruiz dominated on the mound. Espinoza pitched 4.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off only one hit, while Ruiz tossed 4.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off only one hit. The dominant performance also gave Ruiz a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Cesar Chavira, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024.

San Luis' record is now 9-11. As for Kofa, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.

San Luis will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Kings: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
