Softball Recap: Fort Chiswell Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Fort Chiswell's offense. They came up short against the Auburn Eagles on Friday, falling 10-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Pioneers in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost five in a row.

Fort Chiswell saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lilly Goforth, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Fort Chiswell's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Auburn, they pushed their record up to 21-0 with the win, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Fort Chiswell will take on Rural Retreat at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Auburn does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
