Dulaney is 8-2 against Catonsville since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Lions will welcome the Comets at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Dulaney lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Eastern Tech, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's matchup. The Lions were the clear victors by a 15-7 margin over the Mavericks on Monday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Lions needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.
Carter Frick was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three). He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Logan Park was a standout: he went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Matthew Rich, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Dulaney was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .545. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
The home team had come away the winner the last four times Catonsville and Perry Hall had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Comets put the hurt on the Gators with a sharp 14-2 win on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Comets have posted against the Gators since April 6, 2018.
Dulaney is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for Catonsville, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
Everything went Dulaney's way against Catonsville in their previous meeting back in March, as Dulaney made off with a 10-2 victory. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Comets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
