Football Recap: Cambria Heights Highlanders vs. Northern Cambria Colts
Cambria Heights put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Northern Cambria Colts by a score of 21-14. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Highlanders also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2023.
Cambria Heights got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaxxon Kline out in front who rushed for 88 yards and a touchdown. That's the most rushing yards Kline has posted since back in November of 2023.
Despite the loss, Northern Cambria still got an impressive performance from Ty Dumm, who rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries, and also threw for 120 yards on seven of 18 attempts. A healthy portion of that aerial production (92 yards to be exact) went to Caleb Dolney.
Cambria Heights' victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-0. As for Northern Cambria, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cambria Heights will host Portage at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Portage focused on turnovers this week as team gave up four on Friday. As for Northern Cambria, their homestand will continue as they prepare to take on Marion Center at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both have allowed few points on average, (Marion Center: 6, Northern Cambria: 7) so any points scored will be well earned.
