Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Waynesville couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 59-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fairland Dragons on Wednesday. The Spartans' loss signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

Fairland's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Addison Godby, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten boards. The dominant performance also gave Godby a new career-high in blocks (four). Another player making a difference was Bailey Russell, who went 6-for-13 en route to 17 points.

Waynesville's defeat dropped their record down to 21-5. As for Fairland, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-5.

Waynesville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fairland, they will challenge Versailles at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Fairland has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 208 points over their last three matchups.
