Basketball Recap: Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Comes Up Short

Our Lady of the Lake Catholic lost against Michigan Lutheran back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Lakers were dealt a 59-28 defeat at the hands of the Michigan Lutheran Titans. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Lakers have suffered against the Titans since March 6, 2021.

Michigan Lutheran got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Micah Herbst out in front who went 6-for-12 on his way to 16 points in addition to five boards and five steals. Herbst has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Howe, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Our Lady of the Lake Catholic and nudges their season record down to 6-14. As for Michigan Lutheran, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Our Lady of the Lake Catholic will venture away from home to face off against Watervliet at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Michigan Lutheran, they are taking a road trip to square off against Comstock at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Michigan Lutheran is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.5 points per game this season.
