Meanwhile, Rancho Buena Vista came up short against La Costa Canyon on Tuesday and fell 4-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Longhorns in their meetings with the Mavericks: they've now lost three in a row.

Rancho Buena Vista saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Allison Keusch, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Rancho Buena Vista's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Sage Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8-1.
