Baseball Recap: Murphysboro Starts off Right with Win over Hamilton County

Murphysboro gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They came out on top against the Hamilton County Foxes by a score of 6-3. The Red Devils have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Foxes, too.

The team relied heavily on Corbin Compardo, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Oliver Kartje, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Murphysboro will face off against Trico at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hamilton County, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Pope County at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
