Football Game Preview: Fike Golden Demons vs. Southern Nash Firebirds

Fike hasn't had much luck against Southern Nash recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Golden Demons will face off against the Firebirds at 7:00 p.m.

Fike's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Northern Nash on Monday. They fell 13-0 to the Knights. The game marked the first time this year in which the Golden Demons were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Southern Nash had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 35-0 win over the Golden Falcons. Given the Firebirds' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Golden Falcons are ranked 205th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Southern Nash's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Fike, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Fike took a serious blow against Southern Nash in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, falling 58-24. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Firebirds' Luke Faulkner, who rushed for 91 yards and a pair of scores.
