Baseball Recap: Logansport Triumphs

Logansport posted their closest victory since April 8th on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Hamilton Heights Huskies 5-3. The win continues a trend for the Berries in their matchups with the Huskies: they've now won three in a row.

Braylon Ritchie made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.

In other batting news, Kolten Hudson was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases and two runs. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Hudson Shank, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Logansport's record is now 9-4. As for Hamilton Heights, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Logansport will be playing at home against Lewis Cass at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hamilton Heights, they will venture away from home to challenge Lawrence Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
