Basketball Recap: Whitmore Lake Beats Hope Christian Academy for Their Second Straight Victory

Whitmore Lake won the last time they faced Hope Christian Academy, and Nate Dillon did his part to make sure it happened again. The Whitmore Lake Trojans breezed past the Hope Christian Academy Hawks to the tune of 75-38 on Tuesday thanks to Dillon, who dropped a double-double with 25 points and 16 boards. The game was his tenth in a row with at least 15 points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Canter, who posted six points along with 13 rebounds and three blocks. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in boards.

The victory made it two in a row for Whitmore Lake and bumps their season record up to 14-5. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.5 points over those games. As for Hope Christian Academy, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-17.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Whitmore Lake will host Charyl Stockwell Preparatory Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Whitmore Lake has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Hope Christian Academy, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Hawks duke it out with the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
