Soccer Game Preview: Plainfield vs. Westfield

The Plainfield Quakers will face off against the Westfield Shamrocks at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Westfield took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Plainfield, who comes in off a win.

Plainfield was handed a four-goal loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They won by a goal and slipped past Indianapolis Bishop Chatard 2-1. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but Plainfield were the better team in the second half.

Emerson Jean and Jerry Saintil scored both of Plainfield's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

Westfield had taken Harrison down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Thursday. The Shamrocks took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raiders. While losing is never fun, Westfield can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana soccer rankings (they are ranked 53rd, while Harrison are ranked second).

Westfield has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8-1 record this season. As for Plainfield, the victory got them back to even at 5-5-3.
