Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hobbs). They had just enough and edged out the IDEA Rio Vista College Preparatory Raptors 15-14 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted since April 19, 2024.

Chase Brister looked comfortable as he tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent over his last six games.

On the hitting side, Luke Parrish was a standout: he scored three runs while going 4-for-4. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jason Fuentes, who scored three runs while going 4-for-5.

Hobbs always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .610. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win made it two in a row for Hobbs and bumps their season record up to 4-10.

Coming up, Hobbs will challenge Da Vinci at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for IDEA Rio Vista College Preparatory, they will be taking part in a tournament against Las Cruces at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Las Cruces will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something IDEA Rio Vista College Preparatory surely won't give up without a fight.
