Basketball Recap: Rio Vista Comes Up Short

Rio Vista lost against Bosqueville back in December of 2017 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Rio Vista Eagles fell 52-42 to the Bosqueville Bulldogs. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Rio Vista lost, don't look at Dawson Macklin. Despite the final result, he went 6 of 14 en route to 16 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. Macklin is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kaiden Scott, who posted eight points and five boards.

Rio Vista now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Bosqueville, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 15-5 record.

Rio Vista will be playing at home against Crawford at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Rio Vista is on a three-game streak of home wins, Crawford a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Bosqueville, they will head out to face off against Valley Mills at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Bosqueville is facing Valley Mills at the right time seeing as Valley Mills is stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
