Soccer Game Preview: Belding vs. NorthPointe Christian

Belding is 2-8 against NorthPointe Christian since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Black Knights will square off against the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. Belding will be strutting in after a victory while NorthPointe Christian will be coming in after a loss.

Belding's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 4-0 margin over Muskegon. Considering Belding have won six matchups by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, NorthPointe Christian came up short against Kalamazoo Christian on Friday and fell 3-1. While losing is never fun, NorthPointe Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 189th, while Kalamazoo Christian are ranked 45th).

Belding now has a winning record of 6-5-1. As for NorthPointe Christian, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-8.

Belding suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to NorthPointe Christian in their previous matchup last Thursday. Can the Black Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
