Volleyball Recap: Lake Park Takes a Loss

Lake Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Palatine Pirates. If the Lancers were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Pirates when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Lake Park saw an underclassman step up: freshman Evelyn Voytek had six digs and two aces.

Lake Park's defeat dropped their record down to 8-15. As for Palatine, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Lake Park didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against Prospect on the 4th. As for Palatine, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Maine East on the 4th.
