Baseball Recap: Silverado Sets Scoring Season-High Against Rialto

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Silverado). They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Rialto Knights 9-7.

Jace Weiss made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI.

In other batting news, Aidan Ramirez was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Uriel Martin was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Silverado was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The victory got Silverado back to even at 3-3. As for Rialto, they moved to 3-1 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Silverado will take on Redlands East Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The last six games Redlands East Valley has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Rialto, they will square off against Bloomington at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Bloomington is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9 runs per game this season.
