Basketball Recap: Madison Central Comes Up Short

Madison Central was the 49-43 winner over Clinton when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The game between the Madison Central Jaguars and the Clinton Arrows didn't end well, with the Madison Central Jaguars falling 52-37. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 74th, while the Arrows are ranked 20th).

Jatoi Johnson was a one-woman wrecking crew for Clinton as she went 9 for 16 en route to 20 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. The dominant performance gave Johnson a new career-high in steals. Grace Eatmon was another key player, putting up two points in addition to eight boards and four blocks.

Madison Central has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Clinton, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-5.

Madison Central has already played their next contest (against Tupelo), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Clinton has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Germantown.
