Basketball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Heritage's 11th in Last 12 Outings

Heritage had won five straight home games and Sam Mead did his part to make it six on Friday. The Heritage Hawks breezed by the Holy Spirit Prep Cougars to the tune of 84-27 thanks in part to Mead, who went 14 for 18 on his way to 33 points and eight boards. Those 33 points gave him a new career-high.

Heritage has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.3 points per game. As for Holy Spirit Prep, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Heritage will welcome Atlanta Jewish Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Holy Spirit Prep, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Holy Spirit Prep Cougars challenge the St. Mary's Academy Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Holy Spirit Prep is facing St. Mary's Academy at the right time seeing as St. Mary's Academy is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
