Mercer Christian Academy has not had much luck with Summers County recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Mercer Christian Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kayley Trump. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 27 points and 11 steals. Trump is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Bailee Martin was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Mercer Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Summers County, their win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-2.
Mercer Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Tug Valley at 6:00 p.m. on December 16th. Summers County will be home for the holidays to greet Pocahontas County at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Pocahontas County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 last Friday.
